The Ragamuffins "Batteries Not Included" New Song

Catchy slice of melodic indie pop ‘Batteries Not Included’ is a perfect example of why people are tripping over themselves to praise cheeky electropop kids The Ragamuffins. This long awaited release, produced by Dave Cottrell at Studio 410, has been praised by the likes of BBC’s John Gillmore and countless others.

An indie pop group based in the North West of England, The Ragamuffins (consisting of David Jaggs, Jules Gilchrist and Paul Heck) are renowned for their emphasis on infectious grooves, lush harmonies and catchy melodies. Their frenetic electro pop style takes in elements of Northern Soul, 80's synth pop and the music of "The British Invasion" of the 1960's and is wrapped up in a witty, uplifting lyricism to create something totally unique.

"Exactly what British indie pop needs right now; charm, originality, but most of all, damn fine song writing" - Preston University Press

Eminem "Turns Down Madonna" News

Most artists would jump at the chance to work with Madonna, but not Eminem. The rapper passed on a potential collaboration with the Material Girl.

“I wanted to work with Eminem. I don’t think he wanted to work with me,” she told Rolling Stone in the magazine’s current issue. “Maybe he’s shy.”

When asked who she listens to today, she cited her collaborators Justin Timberlake and Timbaland. “I really, genuinely like the music of Timbaland and Justin,” adding that her son Rocco “likes anything that I did with Timbaland.”

The Queen of Pop also praised Timberlake’s songwriting skills. “Justin is a brilliant songwriter. I mean, ‘What Goes Around…Comes Around’? Brilliant.”

I thought this was some bull*hit when I first read it and thought it was some rumors going around but eventually after some further research it was quite true. In a way Im quite astonished that Eminem turned it down instead of taking up on the opportunity and exploring something new.

Scarlette Fever "You Don't Know My Name" Video + News

Scarlette Fever is the latest new sensation to emerge from the UK, her songs and sound containing in them vivid evocations of a life lived and loves lost, rather than callow youthful platitudes. You Don’t Know My Name is the lead single from her debut album Medication Time and will be released digitally as part of her Sticky Fingers EP on 26th October.

You Don't Know My Name indulges your aural sensitivities on a hauntingly, beautiful journey of Scarlette’s love from a far. The song is cleverly built around a sample of John Barry's Midnight Cowboy that mixes a touch of pedal steel with a gorgeous melody that drifts like dry ice. With a compulsive love of film and music, John Barry is "as good as it gets" and for Scarlette Fever it was an honour and an incredible validation to be given the blessing of the eminent composer who rarely clears the adaptation of his music.

So impressed was Barry that he asked Scarlette to record a song from his farewell to film scoring tribute ‘The Beyondness of Things’. Don Black specially created the lyrics for ‘Give Me A Smile’. It is a reflective soundtrack that perfectly demonstrates Scarlette's affinity with all things epic. "It was the hardest song on my album to record," she admits. "I’m lucky to have been afforded such an opportunity at this stage in my career."

Scarlette’s debut album, ‘Medication Time’ will be released early next year and follows a distinct theme, one of “chocolate, coffee, wine, self-help books whatever it takes. These are the ‘medications’ I use and often, in excess to deal with the highs and lows of life. Of course, my ultimate medication is my music, there’s a song for every mood swing.”

Sticky Fingers EP will feature remixes of You Don’t Know My Name from Loverush UK! and a chilled out version from Kiss 100's very own Justin Wilkes. Finishing the EP are remixes of Scarlette’s track Lovestruck by The Almighty and Riffs & Rays which are currently causing a storm across clubland.

Stephen Gately "Member Of Boyzone Dies" News

Stephen Gately, a singer with the Irish boy band Boyzone, died yesterday while on vacation on the Spanish island of Majorca, according to a post by the group on its official Website today. He was 33.

While Boyzone declined to give further details about the cause of death, the rest of the members of the group—Shane Lynch, Mickey Graham, Keith Duffy, and and Ronan Keaning—released the following statement: “We are completely devastated by the loss of our friend and brother, Stephen. We have shared such wonderful times together over the years and were all looking forward to sharing many more. Stephen was a beautiful person in both body and spirit. He lit up our lives and those of the many friends he had all over the world. Our love and sympathy go out to Andrew and Stephen’s family. We love you and will miss you forever, ‘Steo.’”

Gately had been in Majorca with his partner Andrew Cowles at the time of his death, according to the band’s website statement. The pair were wed in a civil ceremony in 2006.

Boyzone was a U.K. success in the 1990s and was one of the biggest acts to come out of Ireland in that decade, although they never had much success in the United States. After disbanding in 2000, Gately had put out several solo singles and appeared in musical productions, including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The group reunited last year for a comeback concert tour.

Even though this might be at least 4 days old, This overall is tragic with so many entertainers death this year such as with Michael Jackson, DJ AM and now Stephen Gately it truely proves a tragic but a great one as upcoming and developing entertainers will step up on the plate.
